Ok for my input device i chose the phillips dual. Which is  a remote that features a full Qwerty keyboard. With the computer age upon us and televisions becoming more and more like computers remotes need to begin to evolve to be more like keyboards. That is why this remote is a perfect example of a remote making this bridge. This remote also features a sleek design and a smart solution to where to fit all the buttons.

For my second post I wanted to highlight the merits of the design of the new call box installed outside of sigma phi.

 The greatest aspect of this design is its simplicity. This design is an improvement on the old call box which had a telephone that had to be placed against your ear to place a call. This new box provides a simple dial pad to make calls and a call button to place the call after dialing. Also along with the auditory affirmination that would be recieved from making a call there is also a visual aid located next to the red help button which will blink red when a call is recieved.
But the greatest feature of this design is the big red help button. It is quite obvious what this button does and how it is used. By having this button it cuts out all the time necessary to make a call and in the case of an actual emergency this is highly helpful.

For my first design blog I'm going to assess the retailmenot.com  homepage. Compared to most websites this homepage is designed quite well. When viewing the page you can  see that it is very good example of the three basic features of a good design: Desirable, useful, and usable.
First the desirability can be seen in the purpose of the website itself. Retailmenot is an online database for coupons. These coupons range from online codes to printable coupons. The usefulness of the design is demonstrated by the mesh of simplicity and advanced features. With minimal searching most users can find exactly what your looking for. Finally the websites best feature is usability. Even for non-computer savvy users the website makes it very clear how to find what your looking for. At the top of the screen there are tabs to bring you to what type of coupons your looking for, showing that the page you are currently on is the coupon codes page so its clear that the other tabs bring you to a new page. Also it shows the top coupons of the day which makes it easier to browse what other users have already been using. However the most useful feature is the large search bar at the top of the screen which makes it easy for users to see where to search. The input section has examples of what to use in your searches and the search button is bright green which says search and has a magnifying glass on it making it very easy to understand what it does.
